Our Program

Volunteer Matching

To ensure that every patient has the best possible experience, we personally match each volunteer with a child based on shared interests, language, and personality. This thoughtful matching process allows young patients to connect with a peer in a safe, supportive environment where they can have fun, build friendships, and engage in conversations that truly interest them.

Specific Activities

The first and main component of our program is the specific activities that our volunteers complete with patients. These activities have been created with the intention of curating an environment that develops patients social understanding and awareness. Whether simple games such as chess or completing a research presentation, every activity is planned with care and the patients safety in mind.

Every session between a patient and volunteer brings us closer to our goal of helping young children get the socialization they need while undergoing treatment. The fun and innovative sessions aim to give them new peer connections improving both mental and in turn physical health along the way.

Creative Events

While activities are the consistent impact of our program, events take place around twice a year to create a memorable moment for the patients. These events give patients time to spend with their peers in the hospital while also seeing the volunteers they have been working alongside regularly. Having these larger activities will allow for an enjoyable day that also develops social skills in group settings.

To emulate a regular environment, the events are fun, safe, and themed each time. The events include an interactive activity, opportunities for patients to interact with volunteers, and themed decorations. Events include activities such as cupcake decorating, fashion shows, or planting seeds for Earth Day and much more.

Community Outreach Events

In order to provide the program that we have, volunteers and community outreach is key. Throughout the year we aim to host or attend an event which gets the name of Kids2Kids out in the community. Through these events, our organization spreads awareness on the issue facing hospitalized youth and gathers support from the local area. Whether it be partnering with a small business, finding volunteers, or simply meeting new people these events are key to success.

Volunteers are utilized to help at these events and share their personal experience from working with the Kids2Kids program.
