About Kids2Kids
Our Organization
The Kids2Kids Program was founded by Sia Patel at just 15 years old. Having grown up witnessing her cousin endure prolonged hospital stays for low white-blood cell counts, Sia developed an understanding of the immense challenges these young patients face. Later, while volunteering at hospitals, she realized how few opportunities existed to make a true impact on these kids lives. This experience, in addition to her loved ones journey inspired her to take action and create the Kids2Kids program.

Kids2Kids provides opportunities for these children to interact with volunteers closer to their age in unique and fun activities. Simply playing chess, creating a project, reading about a favourite animal, or drawing flowers with someone outside of their environment can make their day. Events like decorating cupcakes, fashion shows, or Earth Day festivities are set out and planned to improve the mental health and encourage the social development of young patients during these difficult times.
Our Mission
Hospitalization can be isolating for children, impacting not only their physical health but their mental well-being as well. Without regular interaction with peers and friends, children can feel separated from the world, which can contribute to feelings of loneliness and stress, negatively affecting their recovery and overall well-being. Studies have shown that social interaction plays a significant role in a child's social development and overall health, making it all the more crucial to facilitate connections between hospitalized kids and peers outside their environment.

The Kids2Kids program aims to bridge the gap between hospitalized children and the world outside, one patient at a time. Together, our team aspires to create a supportive network that ensures no child feels forgotten while they fight for their health.
